As buyer for eATS components, you will be the central contact person regarding all commercial and sourcing process related issues within the MP China Hub.
Your responsibility as the interface between our German Procurement organization and our Chinese Joint Venture is to ensure the balance between a global business case optimization and localization interests.
As the localization of eATS components is just starting, you will be responsible for the supplier set analysis and enlargement. You will carry out short visits to potential suppliers, join negotiations and develop and align sourcing strategies together with the headquarter organization as well as our local internal business partners in DGRC.
This means, that a close collaboration with the procurement organization in Germany, cost planning function, quality engineers, the development department as well as the Joint Venture is part of your daily work.
Working content:
1. Support Mercedes-Benz carline project on eATS parts nomination, develop and align different strategies for supplier base optimization.
2. Working together with JV purchasing department, Engineering department and cost planning department for sourcing, cost optimization and change management.
3. Communication with suppliers, handling issues with high complexity, discuss technical driven issues with engineers in China and Germany from purchasing point of view.
4. Market screening and extend potential suppliers base. Supplier management, evaluation and continuous improvement.
5. Prepare and present decision and sourcing documents to management meetings.
6. Urgent tasks assigned by Management.
Experience & Skills:
1. Bachelor degree or above in Automotive, Engineering or Management and Administration area.
2. Minimum 5 years of work experience in the procurement area of automotive components, in particular transmission parts, electronic motor and invertor (manufacturing experiences are preferred).
3. Strong communication and negotiation capabilities.
4. Good English (speaking and writing) language skills, able to read/write/speak German is preferred.
5. Good computer skills (Microsoft office etc.)
6. Highly motivated, proactive and team working attitude, good industrial management thinking is preferred.
