Major Responsibilities: 1. Works closely with other IT staff to encourage the productive use of the system's capabilities. 2. Collaborates with the IT Division Head: A. To provide support to IT systems & facilities in campus B. To provide IT services to College staff and students C. To develop and maintain the computer network, IT application systems and servers. D. Plan, develop and manage, maintain the client computer, printer and peripheral preventative maintenance program. E. Install and implement hardware and software updates and enhancements. F. To process and log all help requests. G. Analyze hardware and software problems and develop solutions. H. Develop and maintain documentation relating to delivery, imaging, installation, set up, configuration, testing and maintenance procedures, to ensure accuracy, consistency and accountability. I. To liaise with IT service providers, handle procurements of IT hardware/software and maintain inventory records. J. Participate in regular periodic hardware and software training. M. Monitors usage of the client computer, printer and peripheral system resources and report any misuse and/or abuse. N. Maintain an awareness of the latest technology, trends and developments in client computer printer and peripheral systems as they relate to schools in general, and YCIS in particular.
3. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications:
A. Qualifications: University or college Diploma. Degree in related field preferred. Formal computer technology qualifications preferred.
B. Experience: 5 years successful work experience in a technical service industry. 5 years experience in a pc computer customer support department. 5 years experience in the service, maintenance and repair of windows pc computers. 5 years experience in the service, maintenance and repair of inkjet and laser printer systems. Extensive skills, knowledge, and successful experience on the operations and functions of Windows 7 upper skills, knowledge, and successful experience of current versions of MS office.
