Job Description The Epidemiology Department resides within BARDS, as a part of company Research Laboratories. Its research areas include epidemiology of disease, pharmacoepidemiology (drug and vaccine safety, effectiveness and utilization) and patient reported outcomes. The research conducted involves carrying out studies and activities, often in collaboration with outside investigators, to support epidemiologic needs applicable to all company products. The department also conducts research using numerous in-house and publicly available databases.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Has responsibility for authoring Epi section for regulatory submissions and for providing Epi support to assigned company products and therapeutic areas Assist in design, conduct, and analysis of epidemiologic studies on assigned company products and therapeutic areas. Participate in protocol and interim/final report preparation and literature review abstraction and summarization Manage poster and publication development including: formatting, medical writing, figure/data content development, co-author review, internal review process, and journal submissions Assist in pharmacoepidemiologic planning and study recommendations for assigned company products and therapy areas in China Assist in drafting scope of work, and facilitate the execution of appropriate service, confidentiality, and consultant agreements and subsequent amendments/change orders Track study timelines/deliverables and follow up on action items Liaise with outsourced vendors and cross functional teams to communicate and oversee project status and/or needs.
Qualifications Education: - Master’s degree in Epidemiology or a closely related discipline (such as statistics or public health) with at least 1 year relevant working experience. - PhD degree in Epidemiology or a closely related discipline (such as statistics or public health) is preferred. Required Experience and Skills: - Broad knowledge in the application of epidemiologic approaches to problems in public health. - Experience in conducting real world evidence study, including secondary database/primary data collection is preferred. - Highly motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders - Problem-solving ability, excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills - Record of research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
