Job Summary: The Biological Research Center at National Institute of Biological Sciences Beijing (NIBS) is searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and enthusiastic postdoctoral fellow to conduct research on the role of tumor virus in human tumorigenesis. Our research focuses on how Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), a tumor virus, interacts with host cells to cause two distinct human cancers: Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) and primary effusion lymphoma (PEL). The candidate will carry out the in-depth studies to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying KSHV infection and cellular reprogramming. Primary activities include carrying out cell culture, molecular and biochemical assays and characterizing transgenic/knockout mouse models. We are seeking a talented and ambitious individual to join our team. This role offers opportunities for career growth and development, with the aim to transition to an independent PI position within 3-5 years.
Responsibilities: ·Work independently and collaboratively to carry out assigned research projects. ·Design the experiments under the guidance of the PI. ·Collect and analyze experimental data. ·Report to the PI weekly. ·Prepare manuscripts and other reports under the guidance of the PI.
Minimum Qualifications ·Ph.D. in cancer biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or related fields. Preferred Qualifications: ·Previous working experience in the related research field, especially cancer biology or tumor virology.
