As a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) at Micron, you will serve as a primary technical contact for Micron’s customers and various departments within Micron to manage day-to-day design opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Working with customers to attain design wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications with Micron products and technologies (NAND, eMMC, UFS, LPDRAM).
- Providing technical support to customers and the field sales force. Support includes applications advice, product recommendations, device testing/updating at customer site, material management, technical problem resolution, and quality issue resolution.
- Visiting and/or contacting customers to determine their needs for new products and/or features.
- Working with factory marketing and applications engineering to determine the feasibility of specific new products, packaging or features.
- Submitting or responding to product specification and technical/quality questionnaires submitted by customers.
- Identifying and communicating the needed Marketing literature (e.g., product guides, cross references, advertisements, etc.).
- Providing internal strategic direction for quality related objectives through collaboration with global field support teams.
- Collecting and compiling product performance data at end customers.
- Managing and facilitating on-site verification activities performed by sub-contractors.

Successful candidates for this position will have:

- 5 years (or more) applications engineering or design experience which may include:
Designing, testing, and applications experience in the mobile phone, DTV/STB or networking market segment strongly preferred. This can include system design, debug and test
Quality and Reliability experience is a plus
Previous experience working as an application engineer for a semiconductor manufacturer, mobile phone/DTV/STB/networking design company, or storage company

Education:
BSEE or MSEE
Provides technical expertise and value to customers who integrate firms' products with their own. Assignments include interpretations of designs, applications, and service information. Typically interacts with sales team, manufacturing, and marketing personnel. Gathers information concerning the capabilities of company products. Typically is required to make or assist in technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer training. May work through all phases of customer interaction including customer analysis, design implementation and product manufacturing. Represents customers' interests at technical meetings within the company.
