Drug Product (DP) function is responsible for designing and developing formulations and manufacturing process that enable delivery of BeiGene’s candidate molecules for clinical studies and product commercialization.
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative research scientist to join our preformulation group located at Changping, Beijing, China. In this position you will be a key member of cross functional teams assessing developability of new chemical entities in BeiGene’s discovery pipeline. The applicant should have strong knowledge of physicochemical and biopharmaceutical properties that are important for oral drug absorption and other drug delivery approaches. The candidate must collaborate effectively across disciplines to holistically assess developability and address needs and challenges.
Lead physicochemical characterization of BeiGene’s new chemical entities and developability assessment:
Design and perform diverse in vitro and ex vivo assays to advise project teams on development potential.
Partner with preclinical development for efficient execution of studies.
Summarize results and draw conclusions in team meetings.
Being CMC Project Lead candidate with the strong knowledge and experience in DP, closely work within CMC team and other functions, provide oversight to the design and execution of experiments to drive the progress of CMC development programs.
Lead the development of technologies and scientific innovations that improve DP’s capability to deliver small molecule pipeline. Advance scientific expertise within function. Proactively demonstrate leadership by advising and sharing knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers, and management.
Lead collaboration with other functions to align a broad range of strategies that support drug discovery and development programs.
Publish and/or present in domestic and international conferences, build scientific connections in pharmaceutical science community.
Qualifications:
PhD degree in pharmaceutics, chemistry, engineering, material sciences or related fields.
2+ years working experience on pharmaceutics, solid-state, formulation, analytical or other related fields of drug development.
Comprehensive understanding of biopharmaceutical and physicochemical properties as related to formulation and process development.
Good understanding on oral absorption of drugs, including physiological characteristics, transport mechanisms, and interactions among physiological and physicochemical factors.
Experienced in pharmaceutical understanding.
Good learning agility, strong passion for science, and critical thinking.
Capable of leading cross-functional teamwork.
Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to clearly summarize results for presentation and report generation. Good English writing, reading and speaking.
