The Engineering Design and Technology (EDT) Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing a unique hybrid curriculum that integrates design & technology (D&T) principles from the English National Curriculum with hands-on engineering design, prototyping, and analysis activities and schemes of work. The successful candidate will have extensive experience teaching both Key Stage 3 (KS3) and IGCSE D&T, as well as a strong background in managing a well-equipped woodworking workshop. This position involves collaborating with faculty to continuously refine the EDT program, mentoring students, and staying up-to-date on best practices in STEM education. Key Duties and Responsibilities: 80Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that seamlessly blend D&T and engineering concepts. 80Create formative and summative assessments to track student progress in both D&T and engineering skills. 80Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the school's hybrid EDT curriculum. 80Oversee the facilities, ensuring appropriate safety protocols are in place. 80Train and supervise students in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery. 80Manage the procurement of equipment, tools, materials, and software for the EDT program. 80Serve as a mentor to students, fostering an innovative, problem-solving mindset. 80Actively participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities Required Qualifications: 80Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field 80Minimum 2 years of experience teaching D&T at the KS3 and IGCSE levels 80Substantial hands-on expertise working with woodworking tools and machinery. 80Strong background in engineering design, prototyping, and analysis 80Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills 80Ability to manage budgets and workshop operations. 80Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new teaching methods and technologies. Preferred Qualifications: 80Master's degree in education or engineering 80Prior experience developing or implementing hybrid STEM curricula. 80Familiarity with the English National Curriculum for D&T 80Technical skills in CAD, CNC machining, electronics, and coding 80Safety training and certification for workshop equipment 80Experience working in an international school setting.
