JOB SUMMARY: The DFM Specialist will lead the improvements to the Design & manufacturing processes. He will focus on the NPI stage and optimize the Design to the manufacturing. He will be responsible that the DFM procedure is performed in such a way that changes for quality reasons after release come to a minimum. He will be the linking pin in the factory to the 3 different DE centers in USA, Europe and Asia. He also works with a group of other specialist for the continuous improvement for all factories of Würth Electronics Midcom. The person in this position is required to collaborate closely and regularly with other departments, mainly Design & NPI Production to ensure smooth and effective process setup during the whole life cycle, herewith minimizing quality issues and achieve or exceed present effectiveness in the manufacturing side. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Optimize the design of all new release parts for manufacturing Establishes him/herself as the point of contact for product improvement as well as the strategic link between, DE, production, quality and engineering teams in the manufacturing sites. Actively participates in defining corrective & preventive actions, and pursues active verification of such CAPA plans Continuously and actively pursues and drives improvement in design opportunities, based on business benefits. Updates documents and teaches new Design for Manufacturing learnings to all teams (DE, ME, QE) Works closely together with engineering teams for new process capabilities to improve the efficiency and quality, think outside the box Supports electrical and mechanical ECR/ECO initiatives through risk identification to maintain product/process quality levels. DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience in a process or design environment. Experience in electrical component manufacturing processes and/or design of transformers Familiar with electronic component international safety standards e.g. UL, VDE etc and the implementation and/or regulatory of these standards. Solid knowledge of general quality and manufacturing processes/ techniques, (statistical) quality control programs, engineering and technology principles and practices. Strong ability to interpret and understand mechanical and electrical product documentation; Strong ability to identify process weaknesses and defines measures how to correct them; Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, identifying and addressing problems, and meeting deadlines. Ability to set priorities in a fast paced development environment (High product mix & low volume) Well spoken and written in bi-lingual (English / Chinese).
EDUCATION:
University degree in Design/Engineering or bachelor degree with relevant design/engineering studies and courses. For suitable candidates with a bachelor degree 5 years of experience in process engineering position is a requirement. CHARACTER and PERSONALITY:

Mastery of MS Windows and basic MS Office applications. Statistical applications would be a big plus. Mastery of drawing tools, like Solid works or CAD OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Adheres to direction from management on distribution controls, secure filing and disposal, records retention and storage for drawings, contracts and other confidential or sensitive materials. Regular travel within China is required to visit all 3 factories REFERENCES: Required.
