The Role
The APAC Region is at the forefront of building a world class approach to Working Capital management across Clyde & Co. This includes automation of repetitive tasks, addressing the root causes of billing and payment delays and forming strategic partnerships with our key clients and service providers.
We currently have one vacancy for a Credit Controller who is keen to join, and grow within, a high performing team. This role is within in a team that collectively supports China, Hong Kong,Singapore and Thailand. As a result we are open to candidates from all of these locations. We value the knowledge and skill that an experienced Credit Controller can bring to this role, but also welcome those who are looking for a foothold to complete their qualifications and build a career in finance. The APAC region is growing fast and the finance team has a track record of finding new opportunities for personal development and growth.
This role is offered on an initial 12 month contract.
Key responsibilities
This role reports to the Working Capital Manager, APAC Region. Routine responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1.accurate and timely allocation of receipts, clearing of open items in the banking functions
2.banking and deposits of incoming cheques
3.generating aged accounts receivable reports and distributing to each practice
4.conducting, summarizing and logging regular meetings with Partners
5.preparing and emailing reminders regarding overdue accounts
6.follow up verbal and written communication to internal and external stakeholders
7.dealing with internal queries about credit issues
8.maintaining collections history database
9.monitoring credit to ensure the firm meets its monthly KPI
10.general assistance to the finance team
In addition to the routine tasks you will also be a significant contributor to our change agenda:
1.Implementing new systems and processes to automate regular reminders to clients
2.Individually looking for ways to continuously improve the service that we provide within the firm
3.Being open to new challenges and responsibilities - given the level of growth and innovation across the team, we see these roles as a stepping stone to new and more senior roles as they develop across the team.
Candidate profile:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following attributes and skills:
1.Credit control or similar experience in a similar, or larger, organisation
2.Accounting graduate and/or qualifying as ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc
3.Good command of spoken and written English as well as Mandarin and/or Cantonese
4.Manages time and priorities to consistently meet deadlines
5.Self-motivated and able to work quickly without making errors
6.Committed to quality and attention to detail
7.Fast learner, keen to advance their career as the region grows in both size and complexity
8.Works well both in a team and on their own tasks
9.Committed to continuous improvement of our processes and controls
10.Clear, concise written and verbal communicator
11.Experience in professional services firms and / or knowledge of Thomson Reuters Elite 3E would be advantageous but not essential
