The Principal Advanced Manufacturing Quality Engineer specializing in battery-powered tools, you will be a key contributor to our Advanced Manufacturing team, playing a crucial role in shaping the quality strategies for future assembly and manufacturing systems. Focus will be on developing control plans, SPC requirements, establishing quality targets, and developing risk mitigation plans for advanced, new technology systems. You will collaborate closely with Advanced Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and larger cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless implementation of quality standards and processes in the production of consumer battery-powered tools.
Duties and Responsibilities 61 Develop system level control plans and risk mitigation plans for Advanced Manufacturing Systems 61 Support development and execution of DOE’s to establish full-system SPC strategies. 61 Coordinate alignment of critical control plan elements and processes globally, including SPC and in-process control requirements to enable data connectivity strategy. 61 Support defect root cause analysis and corrective actions. 61 Responsible for system-level Quality sign-off before release for production. 61 Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to product teams to minimize potential quality issues during production start-up. 61 Identify opportunities for process optimization to enhance efficiency and reduce defects in advanced systems. 61 Provide training to project quality engineering teams for system implementation. 61 Provide project and production support for newly launched systems. 61 Provide critical reviews of existing process control plans and process monitoring to drive continuous improvement on high value process steps.
Education and Experience Requirements Required 61 Bachelor of Science Degree in Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent. 61 6+ years of highly successful experience in related field. 61 Highly motivated self-starter. 61 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 61 Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams. 61 Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 61 Ability to travel up to 25% (domestic and International).
Preferred 61 Master of Science Degree in Engineering or MBA. 61 Quality Engineering experience with battery and motor manufacturing processes focus 61 Experience with various weld methods and technologies 61 Experience with ISO-9001, TS16949, or VDA 6.3 process auditing 61 Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification
