We are looking for a freelance designer, with technical / fabric knowledge, to design the shoe upper.

Aesthetics
1. The shoe has a lot of technology going on, so the design needs to be balanced with understanding with understandable design treatments.
2. Topline / throat: build off the last and finalize a pleasing topline.
3. Visual clues: create visual clues to comfort features, breathability, stretch, support through design (texture & treatment)
Performance
1. Breathability: use texture to call out breathability where it makes sense
2. Flexibility / Stretch: use mechanical stretch (in conjunction with, perhaps) where it helps fit & comfort
3. Support: use knit treatments (and other components) to provide support (heel, arch)
4. Padding: use knit padding to provide comfort features
Overall
This is an active shoe with some casual wear capabilities. We want to minimize components (to reduce waste), and use appropriate technology and design to achieve the comfort, support and performance we need. Overall story telling around the sustainability.
