Role & Team Responsibilities: As the Supply Base Manager based in Dongguan, China, you will: 61 Forecast and communicate with key suppliers: Provide forecasts to designated key suppliers based on weekly Master Production Schedule (MPS) and factory Material Requirements Planning (MRP). 61 Drive component factory performance: Collaborate with GSM, Factory Operations, and suppliers to ensure component factories meet build plan goals and objectives. 61 Provide component status updates: Track and communicate build and tooling status for key components from Engineering Validation Test (EVT) through End of Life (EOL). 61 Ensure on-time delivery (OTD): Work closely with component factories to achieve and maintain on-time delivery performance. 61 Resolve operational issues: Lead efforts to resolve any operational problems with key component suppliers to prevent production delays. 61 Minimize component exposure risks: Monitor and address component risks due to End of Life (EOL) transitions and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). 61 Lead-time management: Manage and update component lead times to ensure accuracy and alignment with production schedules, and actively flag supply risk. 61 Ensure material splits compliance: Coordinate with Contract Manufacturers (CM)/Joint Development Manufacturers (JDM) and key suppliers to enforce material split agreements. 61 On-ground support: Provide on-the-ground support for various tasks such as audits, escalations, and miscellaneous requests from internal teams. 61 Drive continuous improvement: Conduct quarterly reviews with key suppliers, focusing on continuous improvement, cost reductions, and efficiency gains. 61 Adapt to global supply chain shifts: Adjust strategies as needed to meet evolving business requirements, including NPI support and managing full-scale product volumes. 61 Risk assessment and supplier base management: Perform ongoing risk assessments to prevent over-reliance on a single supplier or location. Adjust the supplier base as needed to align with risk management guidelines.
Required Qualifications: 61 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 7-10 years of experience in International Logistics, Order Fulfillment, and Supplier Management. 61 Thorough understanding of inventory management, shipping/receiving, production scheduling, and shop floor control in a high-volume production environment. 61 Proven track record of driving change and delivering results. 61 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 61 Strong background in Strategic Supplier Evaluation, Selection, and Maintenance globally. 61 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational abilities. 61 Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing initiatives effectively. 61 Excellent planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work efficiently with limited resources. Specific Areas of Focus: Supply continuity, supplier performance, risk mitigation, NPI support, capacity management, and cost reduction.
