Position Summary: The Controls Engineer provides economical solutions to create, improve & maintain for the data collection & process control systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Machine Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Laboratories, equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the maintenance, deployment & updates to the systems used to monitor and control our manufacturing processes.
Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:
61 Maintenance of bulk cable process monitoring and control systems 61 Expansion of bulk cable process monitoring and control systems throughout TE DDN 61 Interact with Manufacturing Process Development Engineering 61 Monitoring industry automation/control trends, specifically sensor technology 61 Work with out side suppliers of equipment & devices to implement monitoring & control systems 61 Support additional manufacturing sites 61 Interact with AQEs & Quality organization associated with bulk cable to ensure systems are achieving desired results 61 Support SAFE Activities 61 Support ISO Activities 61 Provide Technical support for maintenance activities – Bulk Cable Equipment 61 Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business
Job Requirements/Experience Necessary
61 Manufacturing Engineering Degree preferred. 61 Knowledge of Ladder Logic required 61 5 to 8 years manufacturing systems/controls experience. 61 Knowledge of extrusion monitoring & control systems desirable 61 Proficient in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean 61 Knowledge of additional manufacturing processes & equipment used in the manufacture of wire & cable a plus.
