JOB SUMMARY
61 Engineer shall be responsible to develop stamping dies capable of producing good quality products efficiently, effectively at its lowest cost and conforming to TE Engineering Standards.
61 Own DFM, PFMEA to optimize product design, process design and tooling design, Realizes sample tooling and product samples. Determines the most suitable manufacturing concepts related to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location.
61 Ensure dies and stamping processes are designed to be capable of producing good quality products efficiently and effectively at the lowest possible cost.
61 Ensure projects are completed in a timely manner and properly transferred to manufacturing upon *** Article approval complete with documentation.
61 Provide cost estimations for new die tooling and processes.
61 Work within a cross-functional team consisting of various process experts.
61 Integrate feedback and lessons learned into new dies and stamping processes.
61 Collaborate with global experts to update and continuously improve operational standards.
61 Study or Introduce new technologies into process designs to maximize yield and efficiency.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
61 Degree or Diploma in mechanical / production engineering.
61 Ability to use CAD/ NX /CAE software.
61 More than 6 years Die design, Process and Troubleshooting knowledge /experience.
61 Strong knowledge of tool fabrication, tool-steel application/selection, heat treating, and plating/coating.
61 Strong knowledge of stamping processes.
61 Strong understanding of metal material, press machine, auxiliary equipment.
61 Understand tolerance calculations and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
61 Good project management skill – Ability to work on several projects at once.
61 Effective prepare and present Technical knowledge within a group setting.
61 Willingness to travel (25% travel).
61 Ability to effectively communicate in English – Written and Spoken.
JOB DUTIES
61 Establish DFM, PFMEA, Tooling spec, Die Design, stamping process and Conditioning Standards and Rules, and conduct tool design.
61 Manage projects to ensure timely debugging of new dies and processes to meet the *** article qualification target so as to facilitate new program startup.
61 Design and develop new stamping dies that can run at high efficiency, produce excellent product quality at reduced manufacturing cost
61 Conduct die tooling design review with the Engineering, Operation and Quality engineering.
61 Approval of *** Article inspections and process capability.
61 Provide technical advice to enhance future product design through die engineering evaluation. Conduct evaluations for DFM (design for manufacturability).
61 Carry out cost reduction projects through redesigning of the existing die.
61 Support die design software development and library creation
61 Maintain a proper system and documentation in line with the tooling development requirements, under DND MPDE Execution Matrix.
61 Work within a cross-functional team and participate in LEAN Product Development.
61 Travel to suppliers/plants in order to support development/fine-tuning and or project release.
61 Collaborate with global experts to update and continuously improve operational standards.
61 Study or Introduce new technologies into process designs to maximize yield and efficiency.
61 Attend regional trade shows and continuously benchmark against industry best practices.
