To proactively engage with DBS functions and understand DBS functions strategy, initiatives, key challenges and deliverables in China; 2. To co-operate with Branch Managers in daily branch management in terms of staff management, regulatory compliance, relationship building and public affairs; 3. To manage the branch to ensure overall effectiveness and efficiency in all aspects of branch operations; 4. To support DBS functions in maintaining levels of operational efficiency and customer service to maximize the branch profitability in line with strategic and operating objectives; 5. To support DBS functions in operation management including GPU, CRE, Corporate Security, Ops, counter services, etc. and administrations of the branch to ensure the bank security, operations and processing quality and productivity are up to bank's standard and fully complied with local regulatory requirement; 6. To maintain cordial relationship with the local government authorities and regulators and ensure that smooth communication channels are established for business/operation need; 7. To help functions/businesses in cultural establishment and embedment of the controls in the operating processes, as well as Staff Conduct. Your appointment will be subject to regulatory approval by the National Financial Regulatory Administration(“NFRA”)/China Securities Regulatory Commission (“CSRC”). Upon approval, you will be classified as China Local Material Risk Taker (MRT) and the MRT terms and conditions specified in HBCN/RRB/HACN/INSH/IBCN Variable Pay Deferral Guide will be applicable to any variable pay that may be awarded to you. Qualifications To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements: 1. The Job holder needs to keep good balance between supporting DBS functions in achieving service and operation excellence to support aggressive business targets, and at the same time overseeing stability of local business systems and processes and compliance of internal/external rules and regulations; 2. The job holder is required to organize and govern an efficient and productive DBS forces in face of dynamic regulatory environment, fierce market competition and the Bank's fast expansion plan, but with limited resources, controlled cost and staff of limited experience level; 3. The job holder is also required to coordinate a wide range of branch collaboration models across GBs/GFs in terms of branch management work, and when necessary, achieve resource utilization efficiency among the branch. It requires high level of leadership skills and communication skills, as most of branch staff have no direct reporting line to DM; 4. The job holder is also required to oversee a wide range of DBS services, including Operations, Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Information Technology, and Corporate Security. It is important to master an extensive range of job knowledge including China banking regulations, banking operations, accounting/financial control, and credit risk management, security management, and people and property management, IT/system knowledge to ensure effectively managing the overall operations. 5. University degree or above with minimum 4 years of financial institution working experience or above 6 years of relevant financial working experience (including financial institution working experience for minimum 2 years); 6. Good professional ethics, integrity, conduct, and reputation without any record of violation of law or regulation; 7. The job holder is also required to coordinate a wide range of branch collaboration models across GBs/GFs in terms of branch management arrangement, and when necessary, achieve resource utilization efficiency among the branch. It requires high level of leadership skills, incident management and communication skills; 8. Fluency in Mandarin and English, both oral and written, is essential. You’ll achieve more at HSBC.
