Objectives: Increase the win ratio of business and RFQ through timely, efficient, well organized replies Maximize the profit of the business by better buying rates Deliver the space commitment and quality service to customer Support the growth of volumes & profit by coordinating with sub-regions
Role & Responsibilities: (1) Carrier relationship & Rate procurement Develop and maintain relations with ocean freight carriers Provide updated information within network on carriers’ situation, i.e. blank sailing program, new service and changes in ocean surcharges Procure the competitive general /FAK rates with carriers for all trades
(2) Pricing Guidelines Upload the rates contract of specific carriers on Rate Engine – Catapult Circulate the rate sheets, ex Far East to all trades, to overseas offices, GCA offices (related sales & operations team) on timely manner Attend daily FAK rate enquiries ex Far East to worldwide Attend RFQ/Tender Prepare the benchmarking exercise through carrier online tools and SCFI reports of all trades
(3) Capacity Management Co-ordinate with carriers and internal party for capacity/space issue Co-ordinate with the sub regions on volume/equipment projections so that we can secure space/equipment guarantee with respective carriers. Manage seasonal capacity requirements e.g. Chinese New Year, National Day holidays, peak seasons.
Education and Experience requirements: Degree qualified Over 4 years’ solid experience in freight forwarding industry Having good connection with ocean carriers
