The Environmental Health and Safety Leader is responsible for developing a strong safety culture and an effective, efficient and compliant safety process to ensure the plant environmental, health and safety. The EHS Leader will lead from a foundation of safety and be guided by the Owens Corning’s Safety Stand.

As a key member of the Plant NLT, this individual is must be capable of modeling pure environmental and safety leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of critical processes, programs, training and procedures to achieve plant goals, objectives and continuous improvement with an unwavering focus on environmental health and safety.

Responsibilities
1. Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
61 Ability to leverage a strong understanding of both technical and human organizational issues to transform plant safety and environmental performance align with OC EHS stands; 61 Effectively lead the Environmental Health and Safety program and the workplace parties in an engaged environment while promoting environmental, health & safety as critical and strategic business elements; 61 Proven ability to lead Environmental and Safety initiatives in a corporate structure as well as act as an effective company primary contact and resource for local and provincial environmental and occupational health & safety regulatory bodies and consultation partners; 61 Possess the experience and motivation to lead key initiatives by example; promoting progress through such strategies as diversity, leadership development, process innovation, teamwork, empowerment and creativity; 61 Responsible to oversee and facilitate loss control activities as they relate to security; 61 Provide leadership for implementing safety programs in Guangzhou plant that fulfills Owens Corning’s’ Stand on Safety in pursuit of a ZERO Injury target; 61 He/she must have the ability to identify critical process and system needs and then implement appropriate action plans.
Metrics 61 Establish proactive safety initiatives with proven impact 61 Implement a personal safety action plan and review progress with the plant leader 61 Lead and track plant progress against the SAFE Management and SAFE Critical 6 goals.
2. Environmental Health and Safety System improvements to exceed basic compliance standards. 61 Strong background in management systems including OHSAS 18000 and ISO 14000 61 Participant regional/ local improvement activities and ensure integration into our progressive safety systems and programs while driving fundamental compliance. 61 Strong background in, occupational health and safety, ergonomics, behavior based safety and WSIB claims management and all related legislations as well as environmental waste management, and industrial hygiene. 61 Quickly embrace the requirements of the OC EMS and other environmental system components.

3. Training and communication 61 Ensure Training needs are identified and supported through the development of comprehensive compliance programs. 61 Facilitate training delivery consistent with the Training, Awareness and Competency Program 61 Establish core skills in supervisors and NLT members to lead safety training in their respective areas of responsibility

4. As EHS lead and plant safety rep, leverage various audit processes and data sources to determine opportunities for continuous improvement.

5. As TPM EHS pillar leader drive the EHS pillar promotion and result achievement. Metrics 61 All TPM EHS pillar KMI, KPI, KAI are followed up and achievement the targets. 61 The daily TPM EHS activities 100% implementation. 61 The TPM EHS reports submitting in time. 61 Lead the TPM EHS pillar passing the TPM level audit.
Job Requirements
Experience: 61 5-10 years of Environmental and Health & Safety Leadership experience in manufacturing environment; 61 At least bachelor degree in any field specific to Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent majors; 61 Participate in the development and successful implementation of strategic plans; 61 Demonstrated high growth in previous experience; 61 Demonstrated success in implementing best practices.
Knowledge and Abilities: 61 Certified Registered Safety Professional designation would be an asset.
