职位描述
Main aims
- To support the subjects which are taught by expatriate teachers, including science, English, maths, and other subjects if necessary.
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Teachers and Head of Year.
Teaching and Learning
- assist in the implementation of A Complete Education for pupils, help monitor their progress and feedback to teachers;
- undertake teaching tasks with groups of pupils, following plans as prepared by teachers;
- discuss planning objectives with the teacher on a daily basis;
- prepare and manage classroom resources and teaching materials for educational activities.
- provide support for individuals and groups of pupils inside and outside the classroom;
- use personal expertise to enhance children’s learning experiences.
- use relevant technology to support instruction;
- provide or assist in the running of co-curricular activities as required
- Assist in classroom preparation and clearing up ensuring a well-organised environment
- Assist in creating a high-quality learning environment and ensure displays of work meet the high expectations set out in the school display policy
- Follow school assessment procedures when marking work as directed by the teacher.
- on occasion to teach classes as cover teacher.
- Support the teacher in all aspects of class as directed.
Connections with Pupils
- support pupils with emotional/behavioural issues and help develop their social and personal skills
- assist class teacher in the pastoral care of the pupils in their class.
- to encourage and support the skills of independence and self-reliance
- create an effective and challenging learning environment for each pupil;
- assist in the induction of new children into class life as appropriate.
- acknowledge pupils’ improvement and effort;
- provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress/achievement under the guidance of the teacher
- assist pupils in settling into class before class begins;
- supervise classes/groups of pupils moving around the campus;
- Share supervision of children in the school during break periods.
- Look after sick/hurt/upset pupils and attend to physical needs where appropriate
- assist in establishing a classroom environment where pupils feel secure and are comfortable to take risks.
Communication and Collegiality
- work co-operatively and supportively with fellow professionals;
- share information, ideas and resources with colleagues;
- Work to maintain positive relationships and communication with parents and the local community
Administrative Functions
- carry out the administrative functions of the class, eg. attendance, check Homework Planner/emails, etc.;
- To advise as appropriate in the compilation of pupil reports and records by the teacher.
- To be responsible for the pupils, under the guidance of the Year leader, if the teacher is absent.
- Undertake routine tasks to support the curriculum and assist with events e.g celebrations, outings, field trips and take responsibility for a group, as required.
- Where required, to attend and contribute to department and school meetings, parent meetings.
Professional Development
- To take a proactive approach towards continuous professional development
- Attend relevant training activities where required
- plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for classes as designated by mentor teacher;
- develop a range of effective teaching techniques under the supervision of the Mentor Teacher;
- teaching aligned with the School’s current programme;
- observe other teachers on a regular basis to learn from good practice.

Minimum qualifications and experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or above, education or subject related major preferred.
- Teaching Qualification issued by Education Bureau
- Strong verbal and written communications skill in Chinese and English
- Computer literacy
- Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Ability to communicate clearly with pupils and others
- Ability to lead tasks and activities with groups of pupils
