We are seeking a talented, motivated, and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer (Digital) to join iRobot's Electrical Engineering R&D APAC team.
As a member of the Electrical Engineering team, you will be a key contributor chartered with ensuring our electrical designs meet cost targets and schedules. You will work in designing/simulating various computational electronic subsystems that utilize high-performance, low-power, embedded microprocessors and their associated external memories, radios, peripherals, and power management devices. You will do trade studies of various subsystems for cost reduction improvements for high volume consumer electronics products.
You will have active participation in a new product development design review with electrical team members and our OEM partners.
You will leverage your experience as a senior engineer to provide technical support enhancing the team’s overall knowledge base and capability.
You will also work closely with our Bedford and APAC (Asia-Pacific) team in helping lead OEM projects and electrical failure analysis of prototypes and pre-production units. You will need to visit OEM partners in the area as needed by the project. You will : 61 Work with Semiconductor suppliers and Sourcing to understand market trends and roadmaps for processors/memories/radios to aid in device selection. 61 Work with OEM/manufacturing teams to understand and support EMI/ESD and yield issues. 61 Prepare pre-compliance units for internal testing 61 Work with Linux software team and other teams, i.e. mechanical, systems, program management, etc. 61 Actively participate in the EE department with contributions to design reviews, process improvements and training opportunities. 61 Understand system level risk and impact on customer experience with all aspects of a design. 61 Manage relationship with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to ensure the future roadmap has lessons learned from past projects. 61 Assess and track end of life risks to components in cooperation with OEM/manufacturing and the supply chain organization. 61 Document and track BOM and engineering changes in PLM tools such as Windchill and signoff on designs for each product development phase gates.

Required Skills:
61 Electrical design experience employing ARM CortexA / RISC-V microprocessors having GHz+ core clock speeds, DDR3/3L/4 and LPDDR3/4/4X RAM devices, NAND/eMMC flash devices, and power management ICs (PMICs) 61 Experience with Linux command line 61 Experience with embedded system/microcontroller concepts, including the following: GPIOs, PWM, ADCs, DACs, and data interfaces (MIPI CSI-2, USB, SDIO, I2C, UART, SPI) 61 Ability to guide and oversee layout designers, and provide clear layout constraints 61 A demonstrable ability to perform trade studies and tradeoff analyses for microprocessors, memories, and other integrated circuit devices. 61 High-speed signal integrity analysis and IBIS model usage 61 Circuit analysis experience for Power Integrity and Power Delivery Network (PDN) optimization 61 Deep understanding of electrical engineering principles in both analog and digital domains as they apply to high-volume consumer electronic devices, with the ability to leverage this understanding to quickly isolate circuit faults 61 A self-starter, driven, passionate developer who can work independently in a team environment and enjoys the challenges of delivering proven solutions. 61 Analog, digital, and DC to DC converter experience for microcontroller/embedded applications 61 Proven ability to create and execute design verification testing (DVT) on circuit designs 61 Knowledge of industry best practices for excellent EMI/ESD performance at minimal cost 61 Ability to make tradeoffs and be decisive when selecting electronic components on designs 61 Proven ability to work on multiple concurrent projects 61 Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, soldering irons, and other common electrical engineering tools used during PCBA testing and measurement 61 Possess strong communication skills 61 B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering 61 5+ years of relevant experience
