Responsibilities: Write and review Infrastructure Architecture Designs Deliver infrastructure designs for new IT services, exploiting current infrastructure technologies: 1.migrating applications to IaaS / PaaS platforms on internal and external cloud. 2.driving a greater utilization of virtualisation & lower cost storage 3.migrating away from non-strategic technology platforms The role focuses on both Architecture: 4.Determine business requirement and influence solution towards Infrastructure future state model 5.Gauge strategic impact to business function, impacted upstream and downstream services and subsequent technology footprint 6.Examine potential demise opportunities and propose deployment options 7.Consider service placement requirements in line with strategy And Design: 8.Delivering end to end technical infrastructure designs, ensuring Non-Functional Requirements are realised 9.Verify impact to adjacent services/systems and Validate deployment and support model 10.Qualify technical acceptance of all components 11.Review design and gain approval via architecture governance 12.Optimise commercial implications Essential skills / experience: 1.Infrastructure architect 2.A system engineering background 3.Technical thought leadership in evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements 4.Influence key stakeholders leading to adoption of solutions in line with strategy Desirable skills / experience: Conceptual knowledge of the following areas and subject matter expert in some areas: 1.Data centre hardware infrastructure (servers, networking, storage) 2.Cloud technologies such as Google GCP, Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure, as well as APIs and the full ecosystem
