GENERAL SUMMARY:
To develop, implement and maintain a sales and marketing plan to develop Cooper-Standard as a supplier of choice for the local market. The sales manager will directly communicate with customers, manufacturing and cooperate offices all aspects to ensure good communication between all parties. He will establish sales objectives, forecasts and stay knowledgeable of current trends and opportunities in the industry. Extensive travel is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance):
1. Developing and implementing customer strategy.
2. Developing marketing plans, projected sales forecasts, potential-product lists.
3. Establish strong relationships with major OEMs, such as BYD
4. Develop and manage budget for sales team.
5. Report to the Director of Business Development on sales status, progress and plans.
6. Establish procedures/processes for customer interaction such as quoting, engineering requests, prototype parts, etc.
7. To stress on price negotiation with customer.
EQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).
1. At least 8 years sales experience in the automotive industry in China.
2. BYD customer experience preferred.
3. University degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).
1. Ability to speak and write English fluently.
2. In-depth knowledge of Chinese automotive market.
3. Be able to travel frequently.
4. Good at problem solving.
REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT (Describe the typical types of decisions made by employees in this job and the likely impact of those decisions on the Company).
1. Must be able to make decisions timely and effectively and provide direction to subordinates.
2. Should be analytical in decision making and be able to represent the companies interests at all times.
3. Must be able to determine when an immediate decision is needed.
