Impact in this Role Your role as Fictiv’s Strategic Sourcing Manager will oversee the intelligent sourcing, qualification, and distribution of work to our Manufacturing Partner network. In this role, you’ll be using your educational background (degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering) and experience in supplier sourcing, qualification, onboarding, development, and management to develop and oversee the China operation’s distributed Manufacturing Partner network.
You will report to the General Manager of China.
What You’ll Be Doing Develop, manage, audit, improve and correct Manufacturing Partner planning and execution of parts manufacturing and assembly and quality control processes. Provide leadership for onboarding and bringing up Manufacturing Partner,Lead Manufacturing Partner improvements in scalability, cost, and quality. Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between suppliers and Fictiv internal departments. Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations. Collaborate with Fictiv costing team, Quality, and PM teams to determine the ideal performance specifications and Manufacturing Partner metrics Forecasting - develop onboarding targets based on sales forecasts and pipeline Negotiation - Negotiation of terms of relationship (e.g. Manufacturing Service Agreements) with our strategic Production Manufacturing Partners. Manage China supply network ensuring transparency and optimization of spend Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies Develop & execute against strategies to drive down COGS & lead time for the procurement of custom mechanical components within Fictiv’s supply chain Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
Desired Experience 8+ years experience as a strategic sourcing manager, global supply manager, or quality manager. Bachelor’s degree is required in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain management. Master’s degree is a plus. Fluency in English, Mandarin Chinese Strong working knowledge of custom manufactured mechanical hardware. Demonstrate expertise in at least one of the following processes: CNC machining,plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication and stamping, metal castings and forgings. Strong negotiation skills Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in developing Supply Base Management strategies with a proven record of delivering key business results
