HSBC University China Business Support Manager Job ID: 0000KSC1 Description Job Description Context Scheduled to open in H1 2025, the HSBC University China, Nansha, in the Greater Bay Area, will act as the global centre for HSBC leadership development, as well as providing space for Chinese and Asian learning and development programmes and events and hosting client, stakeholder, and regulator forums. This centre will be the flagship facility within the HSBC University programme which was established to create physical learning and meeting spaces as well as leveraging the latest training technologies and enterprise-wide learning programmes. This is the pinnacle of the university premises strategy which also includes three regional learning hubs in Birmingham (UK), Dubai (UAE) and Mexico City (Mexico). It’s currently estimated that there will be c16,000 global, local and regional attendees annually making up around 50,000 learner / delegate days.
The Business Support Manager will report to the Centre Director who will be the senior HSBC representative at the centre acting as host for all programmes and events. The Business Support Manager will support all aspects of centre management including HSBC stakeholders and third-party partners.
The first stage of the role will be to support the Centre Director in the management of the day-to-day programme at local level, liasing with the various workstreams as we lead up to the opening, working with the Global PMO team and workstream leads; Corporate Services, Operations, Technology, Finance and HR. Once open the Business Support Manager will provide administrative business & finance support to the Centre Director and HSBC onsite team.
In this role, you will: - Provide business support and administration to the Centre Director including but not limited to diary management, email management, co-ordination and scheduling of meetings, Zoom calls etc. - Support the wider HSBC on-site management team - Co-ordination and governance of operational management coordinating the annual meeting planner and co-ordinating agendas, notes and actions - Manage the delivery and reporting of KPIs, co-ordinating the monthly and quarterly governance review process on behalf of the Centre Director with third-party operators - Management of the annual Financial Resource Plan, co-ordinating the monthly financial review and planning processes - Managing any HSBC led Fusion/procurement activity and liaising with third-party vendors as needed - Management and execution of local digital display units and signage, liaising with specialist functions and third-party providers to ensure all requirements are met - Support the Centre Director as the face of HSBC and host for all senior attendees, liaising with GE teams to ensure all requirements are established and successfully fulfilled - Liaise with other business areas to support delivery of senior programmes e.g. GE Excos, Board Relations & Executive Events, Executive Support Services - Support the Centre Director and Operations Managers with day to day operational requirements, especially at peak times - Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including government and regulators. Qualifications To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: - Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact in a meaningful way to a wide and varied audiences - Experience working in relevant environment/s is essential, i.e. Financial services, operations, hospitality or Human Resources - Proficient in the use of M365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint - Awareness or aptitude to learn to use HSBC approved tools and systems e.g. Fusion, Poppulo, Success Factors - Proactively build internal and external relationships and collaborate with others - The ability to multi-task and manage multiple activities simultaneously against tight deadlines Language - Fluent in English and Mandarin Location - This is an office based role located at the HSBC University in Nasha.
