Job Summary The Engineering Change Management (ECM) Technical Specialist will manage and maintain engineering, compliance, and other technical data, within Fortune Brands Water Innovations. The scope of work includes maintenance and change control of 3D CAD assemblies and their associated bills of materials (BOM) that are the source content for all downstream product informational assets. From these 3D CAD assemblies, they will maintain, update, and publish product installation guides, product specifications, illustrated parts documentation, compliance documentation, manufacturing assembly instructions, product platform definition, and consumable neutral data files. Skilled in engineering, engineering change management, 2D/3D technical illustration software, BOM maintenance, and change control within an ERP/PLM environment are required competencies for this role. Responsibilities 61 Interfaces with Product Development, Design Engineering and Platforms, Manufacturing, Product Compliance and to assure associated change management data (For example, downstream documents and visualizations, BOM, platform definition, compliance documentation, routings, process documentation, product label) is completed when needed, is accurate, up to date. 61 Ensuring 3D CAD assembly models from Product Engineering is accurate, aligns to upstream platform definition, and up to date and the downstream association to ERP Bills of Materials is accurate. 61 Responsible for maintaining product platform data and compliance data (including wetted surfaces, materials, markings, test reports, audit documents, and product listings) and ensures necessary linkages between them. 61 Collaborates with product development teams and product compliance to ensure product labels are created according to company standards, correct product data is represented and UPC codes are correctly assigned. 61 Maintains, and publishes 3D product files (such as neutral data STEP, IGS, etc. file formats) for consumption by builders, architects, and other customers. For example, build best in class 3D BIM models. Qualifications 61 Associates degree or technical certificate in, computer aided design, engineering, engineering change management, or related field is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 61 Requires at least 1 to 3 years of related experience about 3D CAD assemblies, 2D/3D technical illustration software, BOM maintenance/transformation, data management, and change control within an ERP/PLM environment. 61 Engineering background or experience is preferred. 61 Good written English and basic English listening and speaking skills. 61 Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple geographic locations. 61 Software skills: o 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks (preferred) or Creo o PLM such as Dassault Enovia (preferred), or PTC Windchill PLM o Change control/change management, such as SAP ECTR or PDMI (second preferred) o SAP R3 or S4 ERP platform, SAP Visual Enterprise Author, MPMLink, and Altium Nexus (third preferred, order reflects the preference) o AutoCAD Revit and Sharepoint (nice to have) o Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
