Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Author to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining technical documentation, ensuring consistency and clarity across all materials. This role involves close collaboration with the head of artwork, QA team and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
●Documentation Creation: create technical artwork briefs; collect relevant materials from suppliers, organize translations, identify the necessary technical information in tec specs, generate basic rating labels and stickers and send to the artwork team for final formatting
●Technical Authorship: Simplify and prepare technical information for inclusion in IMs, ensuring ease of translation and integration.
●Label Management: Identify and create necessary labels, including EU compliance labels, barcodes, and stickers.
●Artwork Requests: Issue and manage artwork request sheets to buying team, gather necessary templates and technical information, and compile all stickers and labels for vendors.
●Proofreading and Quality Control: Coordinate with proofreaders and buyers to check labels and IMs for accuracy before final approval.
●Compliance: Amend EU compliance labels as needed and ensure all labeling and documents meet regulatory standards.
●Project Management: Manage the critical path and artwork inbox.
Requirements:
●Education or training in Technical Writing, Communications, Product development, or a related field.
●Proven experience as a Technical Author or similar role, preferably in a technical or manufacturing environment.
●Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
●Excellent spoken and written English, along with proficiency in Mandarin.
●Proficiency in documentation tools and software.
●Ability to understand technical information.
●Familiarity with regulatory compliance and labeling requirements.
Additional Information:
●Training will be provided to ensure the candidate can understand and use the current process’ in place for the role. Ongoing support from both the UK and China teams.
●This role may require occasional travel to meet with stakeholders or visit production sites.
