Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement and Logistics Manager to optimize and oversee our supply chain for construction and building materials sourced primarily from China. This critical role requires fluency in both Mandarin and professional-level English to facilitate seamless communication between our teams in the Bahamas and suppliers in China. The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction and real estate procurement, with specific experience sourcing materials for multi-family, hospitality, and commercial projects. The successful candidate will be based in China and serve as the company's on-the-ground representative, responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and ensuring the timely, high-quality procurement of materials that meet our stringent design and construction standards. This role demands a strategic thinker who can contribute to material selection, design coordination, and supplier management while ensuring all orders meet specifications and timelines. Key Responsibilities: 1.Supplier Management and Sourcing: ●Develop and manage relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new, high-quality suppliers that align with the company's standards for quality, reliability, and competitive pricing. ●Conduct site visits to factories across China to evaluate supplier capabilities, ensuring they meet required standards for quality, material specifications, and production capacity. 2.Material Specification and Quality Assurance: ●Ensure accurate translation of material specifications from the Bahamas office into orders that meet the company's requirements for measurements, style preferences, color selections, and quality standards. ●Collaborate closely with the company's design and construction teams to ensure materials align with project designs and specifications. ●Perform thorough quality control checks to verify material quality, design suitability, and adherence to the company's procurement standards, moving beyond basic inspections to make informed decisions on material selection. 3.Order Coordination and Communication: ●Serve as the primary liaison between the Bahamas office and suppliers, facilitating clear communication of project priorities, specifications, and procurement needs. ●Oversee the entire procurement cycle, from order placement through delivery and installation, ensuring that the company's requirements are met at every stage. 4.Logistics and Shipping Coordination: ●Ensure timely logistics coordination, including scheduling, loading, and export of materials to meet the company's project timelines. Work with freight forwarders and shipping companies to manage the logistics of transporting materials to the Bahamas, proactively troubleshooting any issues to prevent delays. 5.Process Improvement and Reporting: ●Regularly assess procurement and logistics processes, implementing strategies to streamline operations, enhance communication, and improve cost efficiencies. ●Provide timely updates and reports to senior leadership on procurement activities, supplier performance, and logistical milestones. Key Requirements: ●Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). ●Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, with a focus on construction and building materials. Real estate, hospitality, or commercial project experience is strongly preferred. ●Language Skills: Must be fluent in Mandarin and possess professional-level proficiency in English to enable effective communication with both Chinese suppliers and the Bahamas-based team. ●Technical Skills: ●Expertise in procurement best practices, including contract negotiation, vendor management, and quality control. ●Comprehensive understanding of international logistics, export compliance, and shipping coordination. ●Familiarity with construction materials and finishes commonly used in multi-family, commercial, hospitality, and industrial projects, with the ability to make informed selections that align with the company's standards.
