Job Summary Reporting to the Director of China Operations, the Sourcing Manager identifies, evaluates, negotiates, develops and manages supplier or vendor relationships to secure terms that are in the organization’s best interest throughout the APAC region. Ensures sourcing activities are in alignment with corporate category strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities ? Identify suppliers who can provide products and/or services that meet company requirements based on price, quality, design, production capabilities, and service ? Provide input related to supplier capabilities, capacity, competitive customers, and related information to U.S. Sourcing and Product Management teams ? Develop and maintain strong partnership with external vendors, including frequent vendor site visits ? Support development, distribution, collection, analysis, and negotiation of Requests for Quote (RFQs) for both New Product Development and sustaining business; provide and organize appropriate data to assist in vendor selection ? Perform data analysis related to quote comparison and annual impact ? Create and maintain SAP data related to vendor pricing ? Monitor and ensure vendor’s capacity, competencies, and performance meet expectations and prepare contingency plans when required to proactively address supply chain risk ? Provide support to project management team as required to ensure the timely implementation of sourcing projects ? Support annual price & incoterms negotiation with suppliers and report results to U.S. Sourcing team ? Any other duties assigned from time-to-time by line Manager and U.S. Sourcing team
Monitoring ? Monitor Regional and Global commodity and FX indices for use in managing supplier Index Agreements ? Provide forward looking estimates of pricing as inputs into annual budgeting process ? Periodically publish supply chain risk analysis studies for assigned vendors and recommend contingency plans Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ? Possesses good negotiation and communication skills and ability to interact with other departments ? Excellent organization and communication skills, written & verbal ? Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, & Outlook) ? Working knowledge of SAP preferred ? Strong analytical skills, with ability to identify, understand, and communicate total cost of ownership calculations Education and/or Experience ? 5+ years sourcing experience in APAC region ? Experience in residential or commercial lighting required ? Bachelor’s Degree from an overseas college or university; or 3+ years related experience in a WFOE preferred ? Bi-lingual; English and Mandarin ? Willingness to travel as needed Note:Business trip in Southeast Asia
