Role Summary - Actively support all students to access a balanced curriculum and to ensure high quality education and improved standards of learning and achievement. - Support the department by taking on administrative tasks, as required - Support the teacher in all aspects of class as directed. - Work cohesively within a highly motivated and professional group of academic staff. - Collaborate and communicate effectively with all other academic staff.
Duties and Responsibilities Teaching and Learning - Be present in the classroom at all times as directed by the teacher. - Work alongside the class teacher to create an orderly, organized classroom environment in which the children’s learning flourishes. - Be responsible with the class teacher for the pastoral care of the children in their class and to be involved in the pastoral care of all children on campus. - Support in the celebrations activities to facilitate the learning of individual children or small group of children under the direction of the class teacher and in consultation with the class teacher. - Be involved in the assessment of children in their care. - Maintain discipline in the manner agreed and set out in the policy. - Undertake supervisory duties in the playground as directed. - Accompany students under the class teacher’s direction, including but not limited to the school buses and ensure they are safely on board at the end of each day. - Participate in the extra-curricular life of the children by organizing or being involved in extra-curricular activities. - Assist in the preparation of class, celebrations, events and programmes as directed. - Clean and ensure disinfection of classrooms, furniture and toys. - Prepare snacks for the students and clean up after the students have eaten.
Standards and Quality Assurance - Support the aims and ethos of the Kindergarten by behaviours which display concern for the student as a whole person, tact, discretion, confidentiality and the willingness to work as a member of a team. - Support the Kindergarten’s image in the community. - Follow all policies and procedures. - Adhere to child protection and safeguarding related policy, procedures and practice. - Set a good example in terms of dress code, punctuality and attendance. - Attend team and staff meetings as requested. - Attends and is involved in events outside standard school hours, e.g., Graduation Ceremony, Sports Day. - Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Manager or Head of Kindergarten.
Typical General Qualifications and Experience required Minimum Typical Education - Bachelor’s Degree or above in education or related major preferred. - Teaching Qualification and certificate preferred
Experience - Early Childhood Education experience with 2-6 years old.
Abilities, Skills and Knowledge - Collaborative team member and strong problem solving skills - Ability to work effectively with individual students, small group and whole classes under the direction and supervision of the Teacher - Sufficient knowledge, expertise and awareness of students’ social, emotional and learning needs to work effective with teachers as part of a professional team - Good verbal and written communications skill in Chinese and English - Computer literacy - Is an open-minded, cooperative and responsible team member, embracing diversity within the school community. - Exhibits a warm, supportive attitude toward all staff, children and parents. - Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality at all times.
