ABOUT THE COMPANY Founded in Guangzhou, our client is a finishing facility under a global group. Our client’s operations focus on cutting to size, enamel printing, and ceramizing "green" glass sheets supplied by a sister facility in Europe. Our client’s end products are specialized glass-ceramic panels used in the production of premium induction or radiant cooktops. Our client primarily serves major appliance manufacturers across Asia. Our client is a pioneer in advanced glass-ceramic solutions.
MISSION A proactive contributor to the research, design, planning, development, and/or assessment of cutting-edge and innovative technologies, transforming customer needs or strategic company goals into finalized product designs. This role leverages scientific and technical expertise to comprehend the physical specifications of glass products and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee and support all research and development of new product creation, including organizing, designing, testing, applying solutions, troubleshooting, and maintaining regular interaction with the R&D, marketing, and product teams at a sister facility. - Assess the costs, consumer appeal, and market viability of innovative glass-ceramic product designs and applications. - Collaborate with the sales team to align product and customer requirements, interpret industry benchmarks into actionable specifications, and compile technical documentation for internal stakeholders and external partners. - Manage multiple projects integrating technologies based on ceramic, electrical, thermal, chemical, or mechanical principles, with a focus on expertise sharing and ensuring qualifications meet standards set by its European laboratory. - Provide technical expertise, conduct failure analysis, and perform product testing to support manufacturing processes and address customer questions or concerns. - Deliver technical assistance to clients and internal teams. - Drive the creation of innovative products. - Manage product returns to achieve set targets. - Influence others’ perspectives or secure agreement in technical discussions. - Demonstrate familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality management systems. - Contribute to decisions impacting company and product performance, often with immediate operational implications. - Exhibit strong instructional skills and adapt technical communication to suit diverse audiences. - Adhere to the company’s EHS and EMS policies, mitigate potential risks, and engage in energy conservation initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor’s degree or above in materials, chemistry, mechanics or physics is preferred. Fresh graduate could also be considered - 1- or 2-year professional experience in Glass and Ceramics would be preferred. - Proficiency in English required (both verbal and written); fluency in French is a plus.
