JOB SUMMARY The Technical Sourcing Manager will manage supplier selection and part validation for three major facets of Jabil’s needs: (1) Design, (2) NPI, (3) Risk/Cost Reduction. This position requires situational analysis to leverage Jabil’s Supply Chain and Sourcing organizations as well as Jabil’s tools, templates, and processes to ensure we are identifying, validating, and deploying components into Jabil’s supply base correctly. This role must shift and adapt quickly to changing project requirements and act with a sense of urgency. Support of multiple projects/customers and have indirect reports is possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign Projects: Accountable for BOM pricing as it evolves through each design and mass production milestone. Responsible for resolving cost differences and addressing supply chain impacts due to BOM changes, design shifts, and scope changes. Responsible for providing detailed explanation for any unresolved issues. Solicits and coordinates supplier Design for Manufacturability (DFM) recommendations as required. Interprets supplier feedback to provide clear guidance on product and/or process optimization. Manages the supplier selection process in alignment with commodity management. Accountable for supplier negotiations and risk mitigation as required. Provides guidance to buyers and maintains clean-to-build part status for all design phases. Accountable for driving Early Supplier Involvement.
NPI Projects: Where assigned, develops a supply chain strategy for all components identified as Jabil’s ownership. Guides qualification process of components and suppliers under Jabil ownership, including but not limited to DFM, FOT, PPAP, and APQP.
Accountable for supplier negotiations and risk mitigation as required. Provides guidance to buyers and maintains clean-to-build part status for all design phases. Works with NPI buyer and selected suppliers to optimize and minimize on hand inventory.
Risk/Cost Reduction: Where assigned, accountable for supply chain projects including cost optimization, quality improvement, and supply assurance in alignment with commodity management. Leads purchasing organization with short-term/high-risk quality issues, line down constraints, and supplier negotiations. Takes guidance from senior team members, SCDMs, SSMs, and Business Unit on Risk/Cost Reduction projects and drives building value propositions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Accountable for Supply Chain & Sourcing deliverables per Jabil’s current templates, software solutions, and processes. Engages in cost estimating on a variety of custom parts. Accountable for successful handoff to production teams by confirming all selected components are fully qualified, validated, and ready for procurement per Jabil and Customer guidelines. Leads identification and deployment of Jabil process improvements. Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor. Complies, follows, and enforces all procedures within the company security policy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering or Supply Chain) with eight years or more of relevant experience or an equivalentcombination of education and experience. Masters degree in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAdvanced PC skills, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to Upper Management and external stakeholders; Ability to read and speak English. Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings and identify key information to manufacture a component such as following GD&T guidelines.
REASONING ABILITYStrong problem solving, analytic, negotiation, project management and people skills are a must. Ability to define problems, collectdata, establish facts, summarize information and draw valid conclusions. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems with limited information. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished inwritten, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to work effectively under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines. Individualmay be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. Be accessible to production floor and office staff and touse required office equipment. Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen frequently. This job may require up to 30% travel.
