Position Summary The Application Engineer is responsible for tools. Support pre-sales, product marketing activities in field, and application issues at mask shop customers in China/ Greater China. Through pre-sales and marketing activities, promote products, new features, support new product introduction and sales in the region. By closely working with customer, understand in-depth customer needs, solving application problems, helps HQ R&D to address customer demands in new product/feature R&D. He / she is expected to be a role-model and drive a performance and customer-oriented culture within Carl Zeiss SMT organization.
Requirements Education 1. Master’s degree and above from “211” university, majored in Engineering of Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, and Optics related field. Experience 2. Minimum 3 years application / process engineering experience in Semiconductor Litho related field, familiar with overlay analysis 3. Good manner of English in reading, writing and speaking

Main Tasks 1. Pre-Sales o Support sales and pre-sales activities including spec negotiations, product roadmap plan, and product demo to meet customer’s specifications together with related marketing / technical expertise in team. o Establish and facilitate positive interaction and relationship with customer through regular follow-up meetings o Liaise and leverage customer requests and specifications internally 2. Application o Respond to customer or field inquiries, work with a cross-functional team of HQ Application team, Product Managers to resolve technical issues and projects o Self-motivate and encourage growth and development of application knowledge. o Generate application report and arrange needed activities to sales directors and HQ product managers o Build up strong connection and relationship with customer counterpart, collect information and customer needs. o Work with teams across organization including sales and marketing department, the engineering department, product management, and Business Development executives. 3. Product Marketing o Support SMS marketing activities with tradeshows, conferences, roadmap meetings while making sure all the marketing activities can meet ZEISS SMS corporate branding. o Understand and analyze customer and competitor’s product and strategy and facilitate strategic discussion. o Provide market research data to determine product potential candidate and using market intelligence by collecting and analyzing to gain valuable insight
