Job Responsibilities: Strategy & Planning ? Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations; ? Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future hardware and organizational hardware needs.
Acquisition & Deployment ? Conduct research on, and make recommendations for, hardware products in support of procurement and development efforts.
Operational Management ? Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed; ? Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user and network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, and other products in order to deliver required desktop service levels; ? Conduct research on, and make recommendations for, hardware products in support of procurement and development efforts. ? Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems or a segment of a network system. ? Implement and manage all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. ? Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation network software products; ? If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors; ? Perform ad-hoc projects and related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position. ? Collaborate closely with both LIMS and sysadmin team to streamline the integration of LIMS with other systems.
Requirement: ? Higher Diploma or above in Information Technology / Computer Studies or related disciplines; ? 1-3 years relevant work experience; ? Excellent Windows PC/Mac hardware, software installing and maintaining skills. ? Excellent scanner/printer installing and maintaining skills. ? Asset purchasing and management. ? Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching. ? Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs. ? Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail. ? Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking. ? Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. ? The capacity and determination to learn and to challenge yourself with problems you have never encountered before. ? The capacity to communicate with users. ? Good English listening, reading, speaking and writing skills enough to work with people from all over the world. ? Working knowledge of scripting languages, server management and network skills would be a plus. ? Good command of English.
