PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Legal Entity Controller (LEC, or Senior Accountant) is an integral part of the Asia-Pacific Accounting Team and provides accounting support to the legal entities within the scope of this team. You will work closely with the teams and shared services supporting the Region to ensure financial processes are executed consistently with group company rules, internal controls and best practices, in a continuous development approach to deliver quality, cost efficiency and appropriate controls. The LEC provides the plant, corporate and business with adequate accounting and internal control processes to support the business operations and demonstrates teamwork and commitment to the success of the company. The LEC is responsible to ensure the correct and timely accounting and effective internal controls over entities held in China. This includes the plants but also any holding and/or distribution entities. Potential temporary support to business projects and systems may be required on an ad hoc mode. Reports to: Asia Pacific Accounting Leader Span of Control: Individual Contributor Location: Linping Hangzhou JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Support the financial close process for entities within scope. 61 Accounting Compliance: Ensure the accuracy and compliance of reported financial results with both US GAAP and local GAAP standards. 61 Month-End Closing: Oversee the completeness of the accounting closing process for assigned entities, either directly or through Shared Services. 61 Financial Accuracy: Maintain the accuracy of financial records through regular reviews and reconciliations. 61 Management Support: Provide management with accurate documentation and explanations for financial postings. 61 Global Accounting Topics: Prepare and post entries for specific global topics such as pensions, deferred taxes, and inventories. 61 Trial Balance Review: Review the monthly trial balance, comment on any deviations, and report them for further action. 61 Shared Services Support: Offer ongoing support to Shared Services for financial postings and provide ad-hoc advice to ensure correctness. 61 Reconciliations and Consolidations: Ensure accurate reconciliations and consolidations of branch accounting records. 61 Documentation Maintenance: Properly archive and maintain ad-hoc documentation Statutory compliance. 61 Ensure local statutory compliance. 61 Prepare and report financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP. 61 Document and submit filings for Works Councils, as required. 61 Prepare, file, and perform audit support for VAT and other taxes. 61 Prepare quarterly reporting of deferred taxes. 61 Preparation and filing of CIT declarations, with support from the Tax team and external advisors. Effective Internal Controls compliance in accordance with control policies. 61 Preparation of all account reconciliations (and accompanying matrices) for entities under scope and other European entities on a timely basis. 61 Assist with performing the mandatory controls as per company requirement. 61 Assist management in the preparation and completeness of quarterly balance sheet reviews and representation letters. 61 Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders (auditors) to ensure a smooth audit process. JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 61 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or related field. 61 3-5 years of professional finance and/or accounting experience. 61 Fluent in Chinese and English. 61 Excellent written and verbal communication. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 61 Professional qualification/certification. 61 Exposure to CN GAAP, US GAAP, and US Tax accounting. 61 Exposure to Internal Controls environment and procedures. 61 Strong financial experience gained in industry 61 SAP experience 61 ERP experience
