Main responsibilities: Expert in Automation and Robotics to monitor, assess, and drive advancements in automation and robotics for tire logistics. This role focuses on identifying and evaluating existing technologies and collaborating with strategic partners and internal teams to develop new concepts and implement innovative solutions. The role also involves a long-term, phased approach to building automation capabilities, recognizing that there are currently no comprehensive solutions for fully automating tire logistics. 1. Market and Technology Analysis - Continuously monitor trends and developments in robotics and automation, focusing on logistics and tire handling. - Identify emerging technologies and assess their potential for application in tire logistics, including partial automation solutions. - Develop relationships with potential partners and technology providers. 2. Development and Implementation of Automation Solutions - Evaluate existing technologies for their suitability in automating tire logistics, particularly for small to medium-sized warehouses. Also 3 PL, not owned warehouses, especially on the market logistics side. - Conceptualize and implement partial and phased automation processes, such as a Truck Tire Loading Robot for autonomous loading of tires into trucks or containers. - Collaborate with strategic partners, suppliers, and internal teams to develop customized solutions tailored to our needs, with a focus on balancing cost, scalability, and ROI. 3. Project Management and Collaboration - Lead and coordinate automation projects, from concept to implementation, with a focus on phased deployment over time. - Work closely with internal departments such as Logistics, IT, and Engineering, as well as external partners. - Ensure all solutions align with budget constraints and demonstrate a clear payback timeline. 4. Foresight and Research - Monitor developments in humanoid robotics and assess their potential for future application in tire logistics. - Contribute to shaping a forward-thinking logistics strategy, balancing short-term gains from partial automation with long-term objectives for advanced automation.
Job Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Logistics Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred: Professional certifications in automation, robotics, or project management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, VDI certifications). - Minimum 5 years of experience in automation or robotics, with at least 3 years focused on manufacturing or logistics environments. - Successfully designed and implemented at least 2 automation projects, - Experience managing at least 1 full project lifecycle, from concept design to implementation and handover. - Fluency in English with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team environment. Experience working in cross-cultural environments, with a global mindset.
