General
Responsible for patterns design based on designer sketches & renderings and be able to create plush toys from verbal direction. Senior position is also responsible for train up local/new join designers.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Develop and create patterns based on the requirements/sketches and feedback from Marketing.
2. Maintain fabric and pattern library systematically.
3. Provide aesthetic reviews comments to seamstresses and drive for high quality samples.
4. Provide fabric yield & sewing labor hours inputs for Pattern Designer filing in computer format.
5. Collaborate w/ pattern designers & artwork designer to ensure patterns & artwork are created in CAD & AI format and upload to digital filing system.
6. Collaborate w/engineer & QA to modify patterns, material, parts, sewing methods to meeting safety & reliability standard at sample development stage.
7. Provide design, material specification to engineer. Provide support for manufacturing samples review and process review as needed.
8. Occasional travel to local and Asia’s vendors to support production model review.
Required Skill Set
1. Able to create Plush patterns independently.
2. Good aesthetic sense on form and shapes; color and material application.
3. Computer aided pattern design skill is an advantage.
4. Good sense in Plush cost and be able to provide alternative material suggestion and sewing simplification for cost improvement.
5. Good knowledge in soft toys manufacturing processes.
6. Basic reading and writing ability in English.
Required Qualifications & Experience
1. College education or above in Design or related field.
2. 5-8 years' relevant work experience in plush toys. Less experience will be considered as Plush Designer.
3. Experienced in creating plush styles and fulfilling QA safety requirement.
