Administrative Assistant for the Innovation Lab for Vaccine Delivery Research
Position Overview: The Global Health Research Center was established in 2013 and co-founded by Duke Kunshan University and the Duke Global Health Institute. The mission is to improve health and promote health equity in China and globally. Through conducting high-quality research, the Center aims to provide policy recommendations, explore innovative solutions to national and global health challenges and support national goals set by policies such as Healthy China 2030. Global Health Research Center received a research grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to establish the Innovation Lab for Vaccine Delivery Research (VaxLab) in December 2021. VaxLab chaired by Professor Shenglan Tang, aims to provide new scientific evidence for the development of national immunization programs and technical support for pilot studies and scale-up of WHO-recommended vaccines. VaxLab has established a wide range of collaborative relationships with the Duke Global Health Institute and other institutions, with partners including the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, universities and research institutions, and relevant companies. Duke Kunshan University is a partnership of Duke University, Wuhan University and the Municipality of Kunshan, China. The Duke Kunshan University campus is located 37 miles west of Shanghai in Kunshan, which is connected to Shanghai via a 15-minute high-speed train. In addition to a global health and other research centers, Duke Kunshan University offers several graduate degrees and undergraduate programs. This position is located in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, China. Reports to: Prof. Shenglan Tang, Mary & James Semans Professor of Medicine and Global Health; Co-Director of Global Health Essential Duties: Support day-to-day execution of all activities related to the VaxLab. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Assist with VaxLab team members to execute the project working plan, the smooth daily operation of VaxLab’s research projects, communication, and policy advocacy events and activities; 2. Assist with facilitating logistics arrangement for VaxLab’s quarterly meetings, workshops, and other project-related activities, etc; 3. Provide support for VaxLab’s advocacy and communication materials; 4. Prepare research contracts with project partners, submit reimbursement and procurement requests, fund transfer requests, etc., ensure the workflows are compliant with policies and regulations of Duke Kunshan University, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and other relevant stakeholders; 5. Provide assistance in material translation, data collection, and reports preparation for relevant stakeholders; 6. Assist with online and offline communication content collection and WeChat/Website regular updates of VaxLab; 7. Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor. 8. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs. Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree is required. Graduate’s degree is preferred. 2. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 3. Ability to work in a team environment is required. 4. Self-motivated person who is adapted to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. 5. Relevant internship or work experience is preferred. 6.
