Job Description: 61 Implementation of the Commodity Strategy in coordination with Purchasing Director, Project- and Plant Buyers in order to secure o Long-term competitiveness o Long-term supply guarantee o Quality capability o Development and Technology lead 61 Leads the strategic development and execution of procurement / commodity strategy with responsibility for annual spend 61 Negotiates strategic and tactical supplier contracts and pursues value engineering opportunities in support of the procurement plan 61 Lead and execute price negotiations in coordination with Purchasing Director 61 Develops, implements company purchasing process, ensuring legal and ethical adherence for the entire Purchasing team 61 Managing the internal nomination process at new awards and supplier changes 61 Work with global purchasing team, focusing on leveraged volume buying across global suppliers - including formalized best practices between regional purchasing teams 61 Contact person for all global Plant and Project Buyers in case of supply problems or support for new programs 61 Directs the spend and material procurement for manufacturing plants - coordinating the communication flow and inventory monitoring 61 Provides daily direction to plant purchasing team regarding planning, buying, negotiating and linkages to other key areas of the supply chain 61 Work with team to identify potential capable suppliers, conduct supplier development plan with cross functional team’s concurrence, implement regional supplier rationalization plan 61 Conduct annual cost reduction plan, lead the team to follow up key projects in VAVE, rationalization to achieve corporate target 61 Identify supplier risks and take proactive works to eliminate the risks, i.e. capacity, financial, organization, 4M change and etc. 61 Work with plant purchasing and SD team to support new projects launch, remove the obstacle from supply base to achieve flawless launch 61 Budget planning / Forecast of cost development of the assigned commodities 61 Other tasks assigned by Purchasing Director Required qualification: 61 Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics or Engineering and minimum 3 years of experience in similar position in Automotive industry. 61 Strong negotiation and analytical skills as well as assertiveness, pro-activeness and ability to work in a team are essential 61 Experience in working with working with international suppliers and plants is a must 61 Strong intercultural skills and ability to travel globally 61 Basic knowledge of different production technologies and relevant cost drivers are required 61 Basic knowledge of the German language would be recognized as a further asset 61 Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail, effectively multi-task and adhere to many concurrent deadlines 61 Must possess excellent organizational and strategical skills 61 An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints 61 Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP and comfortable with the use of new technologies
