Admin Assistant for the NCD Program and IRoNman Lab
Position Overview: Global Health Research Center of Duke Kunshan University is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented admin assistant in support of all activities tied to the Non-communicable Disease (NCD) and Healthy Aging Research program and the Implementation Research on NCD Management Laboratory (the IRoNman Lab). Duke Kunshan University and the Duke Global Health Institute established the Global Health Research Center in 2013. The Center uses innovative approaches to research and solve important health and health policy challenges in China and around the world. The Global Health Research Center is built on the principles of scientific excellence and focuses on establishing interdisciplinary, mutually beneficial collaborations with researchers from China. It will host national and international conferences to disseminate research findings and encourage dialogue among scientists, professionals, policy makers and other key stakeholders engaged in global health. The faculty and research activities complement the global health education programs offered at DKU, including the Master of Science in Global Health and the undergraduate semester courses in global health.
Reports to: Prof. Lijing Yan, Professor of Global Health, Head, NCD Program and Director, the IRoNman Lab.
Essential Duties: Support day-to-day execution of all activities related to the NCD program and the IRoNman Lab. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Coordinate meetings, logistics, contracts, and file archives for team members, research collaborators and partners. 2. Assist with planning events and activities. 3. Submit reimbursement requests, fund transfer requests, and other financial management. 4. Assist working on paperwork such as translation, data collection, and preparing relevant narrative report of the projects. 5. Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor such as supporting research projects, presentations, publicity, and travel arrangements. 6. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University and the research programs grow in size and complexity.
Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Community or junior college graduates can be considered. 2. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 3. Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese is essential. 4. Ability to work in a team environment and have interpersonal and intercultural communication competency. 5. Detail-oriented, responsible, adapted to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. 6. Relevant internship or work experience is preferred.
