Responsibilities: - Develop and lead the In Vivo Pharmacology (IVP) group and work together within the China Research as well as across the business. - Drive and manage IVP research activities in the area of oncology and autoimmune diseases. - Create, benchmark, and validate in vivo mouse models, developing functional and molecular outcomes for in vivo studies. - Work closely with research CROs to coordinate and manage external in vivo studies. - Leverage own extensive experience in preclinical drug development to lead and guide team members to advance programs in the discovery pipeline. - Drive effective decision-making while considering impact to timeline, FTEs/budget, and risks. - Lead, mentor, and train team members. Provide effective leadership including individual performance goal setting, managing the development of entire team and all individuals, recognize and reward employee contributions, planning and facilitating team activities, responsible for hiring and selecting new personnel and motivating members of the functional area. - Collaborate with and participate in cross-functional teams to facilitate IIT- and IND-enabling activities. - Communicate program progress and issues to senior management, to internal governance and approval committee as necessary. Qualifications: - PhD in Biological Sciences or similar field with 3+ years of research experience in cancer biology or pharmacology. - Experience developing and working with complex in vivo models, such as xenograft, patient derived xenograft (PDX), PBMC reconstitution and syngeneic models is required; experience with autoimmune disease models is a plus. - Experience delivering in vivo pharmacology studies in mouse tumor models, including dose-finding tolerability studies, PK/PD and efficacy studies. - Being detail-oriented, highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks, handling tight timelines and delivering quality data are required. - Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills are required. - Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment as a team player with a strong work ethic is required. - Highly adaptable and responsive, and committed to completing tasks in a timely fashion is required. - Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills are required.
