The role of a Tooling Engineer is to manage the process of tool design, tool build and tool try out, respecting objectives set in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery. The main missions of the role are to: ? Be responsible for the successful completion of tooling programs from receipt of order through a successful "Run at Rate" ? Use the Advanced Product Quality Planning process to ensure objectives are met ? Track and report the status of the tooling project, following the ratio of expenses against budget and monitoring quality, cost and delivery performance (i.e. presentations, meetings, customer visits...) ? Be in charge of communication with the customer and for providing documentation ? Keep up to date documentation related to new tooling ? Manage Engineer Change Requests (quoting, implementation, etc...) ? Ensure the new tooling equipment conforms with the Group's Health, Safety & Environment standards ? Validate the tooling (Run at Rate) ? Contribute to the improvement of tooling standards ? Train the operators on the safe operation of new tooling equipment, properly identified, and provide them with tooling instruction ? Propose and implement continuous productivity and quality improvement actions concerning subcontracting and tooling department services
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have/be: ? Master's degree in Engineering ? 3 to 5 years of experience within the automotive industry ? Experience in project management ? Economics skills (cost tracking) ? Working knowledge of Quality systems and Health, Safety & Environment practices ? Strong teamwork skills, interpersonal and communication skills ? Ability to work in a matrix organization ? Minimum bi-lingual (English required) ? Avability to travel
