The position will be based at any tier-2 or tier-3 city of China and will report to the Director, Global Trade Controls - Strategy APAC.

This position ensures compliance with applicable China, EU and U.S. export and import control laws, including the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”), and the Office of Foreign Asset and Control (“OFAC”) sanctions, and regional and local regulations concerning the movement of goods and services across borders. The position acts as a liaison among several internal groups across Avnet businesses (including Farnell).

Job Spec:
- Screen third parties onboarded by Avnet using Avnet’s compliance tools and publicly available information.
- Document and analyze information provided by third parties and screening results, and determine compliance risks identified for third parties.
- These risks include but are not limited to:
* sanction risks
* proliferation risks
* money laundering risks
* bribery and corruption risks
* *** risks
- Take independent decisions about third party onboarding according to Avnet policy.
- Recommend measures to mitigate potential compliance risks related to third parties onboarded by Avnet.

Qualifications:
- Strong capability in understanding of written and spoken processes, instructions, reports, and regulations.
- Minimum 3-year degree or equivalent related experience
- 1-year of experience in a big organization
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
- Dual-/multi-lingual English fluent required, Chinese fluent required; Korean, Vietnamese, French or Spanish appreciated
- Very good knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Oracle experience is a plus
- You are self-reliant, and a self-starter with the ability to deal with challenging situations
- Customs process knowledge and trade compliance process understanding are of advantage
- Proven analytical skills
- Developed communication and diplomatic skills, verbally and in written form
