Job description:
To harness the power of data-driven innovation and empower the ConnectedDrive businesses, we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join the BMW ConnectedDrive Offboard Platform team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background and understanding of data engineering solution building on public clouds such as AWS, Azure and Alibaba Cloud, and you will be responsible to design, build, and optimize the data infrastructure and platforms, ensure the seamless integration and efficient data processing for the operation and management of BMW ConnectedDrive cloud platforms hosted on various public clouds.

Roles and Responsibilities
61 Identify, gather and analyze the data processing requirements from both platform and application team.
61 Define the technical strategy and roadmap for data engineering projects in alignment with business objectives, industrial best practices with state-of-the-art data technologies and approaches, and ensure the strategy timely updated.
61 Design and build efficient, scalable and reliable data infrastructure and pipelines for ingesting, storing, transforming and processing data from different data sources.
61 Work closely and effectively with platform and cross application DevOps teams to ensure the data integration into central data warehouse or platform.
61 Own and drive data engineering projects inside Offboard Platform team by leverage cross-functional internal and external suppliers’ resources and deliver it in a timely manner.
61 Collaborate closely with the Platform Data Analyst to ensure the data platform or infrastructure meets the data analytics or processing objectives.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
61 Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, Engineering or related fields
61 5+ years working experiences in data engineering, business intelligence, data science, or related fields, with demonstrated expertise in building scalable data platforms infrastructure and pipelines.
61 Fluent English for professional use and strong communication skills.
61 Team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
61 Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Technical Qualifications:
61 Strong knowledge, experience and depth with data related technologies ranging from data ingestion, quality, ETL, storage and warehousing, business intelligence, governance and privacy, processing and visualization etc.
61 Subject Matter Expertise in architecting and building enterprise-scale data infrastructure/platform and pipelines on public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Alibaba cloud, AWS preferred.
61 Familiar with database/bigdata technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Spark/Databricks, Hadoop, or equivalent experience.
61 Strong knowledge, experience and depth with data and AI services of popular cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Alibaba cloud, AWS preferred.
61 Technical engineering experience with hands-on coding in SQL and Python to implement data solutions.
61 Strong knowledge in one of the public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Alibaba cloud etc., AWS preferred.
61 Knowledge with software development life cycle, process e.g. Agile, and development tools such as CI/CD tools, Jenkins, Zuul, GitHub Action, etc.
61 Cloud data related certifications in Azure, AWS, and Alibaba Cloud, OR other cloud providers.

Preferred Qualification:
61 Experience in Connected Vehicle Data Platform design, development, and operation in Automotive industry domain.
61 Hands-on experience with data warehousing, data analytics and business intelligence solution landing for use cases and applications.
61 Experience in leverage FinOps technologies into cloud usage and cost optimization.
61 Subject Master Expertise with AWS cloud services.
