Overview of Responsibilities:
1.Teach/coach in small or large groups, supporting Physical Education lessons, Swim Team sessions, & Private Swim Team programme
2.Lesson preparation and planning, delivering sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer
3.Identify participants’ abilities
4.Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions
5.Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques, identifying ways to improve
6.Set ground rules for each session
7.Evaluate sessions and give feedback
8.Organise and supervise assistants and helpers as directed by the Head of Aquatics
9.Work alongside the Head of Aquatics, other Swimming Teacher/Coaches, Lifeguards, etc. to help ensure that participants are able to swim in a safe environment.
10.Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
11.Take an active role in delivery of Swim Team programme by attending Swim Meets & monitoring the progress of Swim Team members
12.Carry out additional swim related tasks such as administration & lifeguarding duties, as directed by the Head of Aquatics

Skills and Experience Required:
1.Keen interest, knowledge, and ability in swimming
2.Good communicator of English
3.The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers
4.Perseverance and patience
5.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
6.Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department
7.Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
8.Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
9.Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
10.Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures
11.Organisation and planning of pool administration

Other:
1.To comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity, confidentiality and data protection, reporting concerns to an appropriate person
2.To maintain and develop personal professional knowledge and awareness
3.To undertake any other such duties or general tasks and hours of work as may reasonably be required

Minimum Requirements:
1.1 year experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
2.CPR Certified & *** Aid Trained
3.Current certification as Swimming Instructor
4.Proficiency in Swimming
