? Assess the company’s processes and workflow using a risk assessment process.
? Implement policies for the use of personal protective equipment
? Conduct ongoing safety training for all employees and assure that new employees receive orientation and introductory training on safety
? Be well versed in the requirements of local and federal regulations that protect the health and safety of all workers
? Conduct investigations of all accidents/incidents to determine root cause and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
? Inspect the work environment to review all hazards in health, safety and environment.
? Instruct employees in the proper handling, storage and disposal of all hazardous waste materials including proper labeling, marking and packaging.
? Maintain and update the company’s plan for preventing spills as well as actions that must be taken to contain and clean-up a spill
? Confirm that all discharges and/or emissions are within the limits provided in the company’s discharge permits
? Represent the company to outside agencies, media and auditors on all EHS related matters
? Maintain all regulatory documents and records that relate to EHS.
? Report all EHS matters to the appropriate business/corporate personnel using provided systems.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

? Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science or related field.
? 7 years’ experience in a multi-national manufacturing industry of which includes at least 5 years of responsibility for EHS.
? Be skilled and knowledgeable in hazard and exposure identification, auditing and inspections; conducting EHS training and regulated governmental reporting requirements.
? Have a solid and demonstrable working knowledge of PRC and local regulatory compliance requirements including all environmental and safety practices and procedures.
? Good training and presentation skills, techniques, applications and practices.
? Able to use Microsoft suite tools including Power Point, Excel, Word, etc. as well as other web based safety management reporting systems.
? Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) in Mandarin and English.
