Key tasks and Responsibilities
??Develop on time the most creative & fun candy-toys.
??Reduce development lead-times and costs of the new projects.
??Ensure compliance with the highest toy safety standards (EU/USA).
??Revise & up-date the current NPD workflow (in coordination with other areas).
??Prepare an annual “NPD Plan” with the number & type of projects to be launched yearly.
??Regularly propose new projects to the management for our own brands.
??Prepare NPD briefings (and revise those from customers), developing products accordingly.
??Prepare all Product Specification files (including Deco Plan, Part List, Tooling Plan, Painting & Assembly plan, Packaging Specs, Cost Estimation file…), and help to prepare Quality specs.
??Regularly hold NPD Meetings to up-date our Top Management and Sales Team about the progress of all NPDs (both from the customer or our company).
??Coordinate potential modifications of the NPD with all stakeholders, to make sure that products can be manufactured efficiently, meeting deadlines, quality requirements and expectations from all of them.
Key competencies
??Technical degree/diploma (Product Design/Mechanical/Industrial/Electronic Engineer).
??Working knowledge of 3D/STL software (Pro-e, Freeform, Maya, Blender, 3D Max or similar).
??Familiar with EN71/ASTM toy safety regulations; familiarity with food regulations is a plus.
??Familiar with mold design.
??Familiar with all types of plastic material and plastic injection processes.
??Familiar with costing (BOMs and cost breakdowns).
??Proficient user of Microsoft Office; knowledge of project management software is a plus.
??Native level of Mandarin, good level of English (will communicate directly with customers).
??Superb project management skills (able to organize resources and meet deadlines).
??Good presentation and communication skills.
??Able to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
??Creative person, able to generate ideas, prepare sketches, and solve problems.
??Proactive, a team player that can also work independently, with hands-on mentality.
??Willing to be stationed in Ningbo, and travel if required.
??At least 5-10 years’ experience in the toy or (preferably) in the candy-toy industries, working directly or indirectly for well-known international brands, retailers, and licenses.
??At least 3 years’ experience managing NPD of toys or candy-toys.
??Good professional references, and a record of job stability (no job-hoppers)
