Job Overview: Be responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting on the Capex budgets and costs, ensure projects stay on budget, track contracts progress and payment schedules, and provide detailed reporting to management, as well as ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Assist with general accounting tasks such as preparing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining records. This combined role ensures the Project Controller plays a pivotal part in delivering projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
Responsibilities and Job Tasks: 1, Project CAPEX/Budget management - Assist in the preparation of project/CAPEX budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle, make sure expenditures are aligned with project budgets. - Track project expenditures and report variances to senior team members. - Compile and analyze financial data to ensure alignment with project goals and budgets. - Support in creating and tracking project timelines and deadlines. - Prepare financial CAPEX reports and forecasts for management.
2, Project contract management - Maintain project documentation, including reports, contracts, and compliance records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. - Monitor contract milestones, deliverables, payment schedules and keep them updated. - Liaise with vendors and contractors to ensure compliance with contract terms. - Verify invoices against contract terms and coordinate timely payments. - Manage contract amendments or variation orders due to scope changes or delays.
3, Financial tracking and reporting - Track and report on Project financial performance, including CAPEX, cashflow, payment schedule and contract-related expenditures, etc. - Ensure accurate documentation of financial and contractual data. - Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and standards, and adhere to relevant laws and regulations. - Provide monthly project investment update with respective local government departments.
4, Risk management - Identify variances and risks in both CAPEX, cashflow and contract management processes. - Support management in implementing risk mitigation strategies.
5, Coordination and communication - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, procurement, engineering) to gather project-related data. - Facilitate communication between Project teams, vendors, and management. - Participate in project meetings, documenting discussions and action items to ensure clear communication among team members.
6, Process improvement - Suggest improvements to CAPEX tracking, contract management, and reporting processes. - Learn and adopt best practices in Project financial and contract management
