Appliances requires a Junior Product Engineer to support product growth across our Power and Signal portfolio. This individual will be Product Engineer on low complex NPD projects and sustaining projects working with customers, project management, product management, operations, procurement, quality, and other functions as required. Preferred candidate should have experience in the design of interconnection products and have knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes. Working knowledge of 3-D CAD systems such as PTC Creo, Space Claim, or similar is required and beginner level with product simulation using CAE is also highly desirable.
Responsibilities 61 Work within a global multidisciplinary team environment as Product Engineer to design and develop functionally robust and cost-effective products processes to meet customer and market needs. 61 Drive the development and release of product, scale-up through stage-gate reviews, ensuring milestone commitments are maintained and stakeholder reporting is completed. 61 Complete product verification using simulation or prototype testing and final product qualification testing. Where needed drive failure analysis and implementation of corrective actions 61 Work with team to complete product safety agency approval such as UL, VDE, CQC and so on. 61 Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA / Digital methodologies. 61 Present projects at technical reviews an update.
Qualification 61 A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is preferred. 61 Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience
Knowledge&Skills 61 Familiar with design and development of interconnection or similar products using complex precision components. 61 Familiar with knowledge of associated manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating and Assy). 61 Familiar with knowledge of materials, finishes and contact physics related to interconnection design. 61 Knowledge of wire termination techniques (crimping, soldering, welding etc.) is desirable. 61 Familiar with testing requirements and techniques for product qualification. 61 Familiar with general knowledge of industry specifications such as UL, IEC, and EIA. 61 Good verbal and written communications skills, ability to communicate Globally at all levels internally and externally. 61 Must be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage projects under instruction. This includes multiple projects and multi-task situations, with the ability to prioritize, set and achieve goals. 61 Experience on design and development of appliances or subcomponents is desirable.
