A Development Test Engineer will typically be involved in the qualification testing of new created products and/or existing products under guidance of Engineering manager, Team leader, Project Leader or a Senior Engineer through the testing, commissioning and integration phases. Responsibilities involve execution of testing/validation tasks to achieve compliance to the product requirements specifications, fitness for purpose, legislative and regulatory standards and product safety and reliability.
Main responsibilities:
Acting as a member of a (international) project team aiming the validation testing of new and existing products. The complete lifecycles of the product will be experienced from concept testing, alpha & beta product build and testing, beta field compliance testing, pre-production, serial production and testing related to product support activities. Attend project team meetings (PTM’s) and DFMEA meetings as required by the project leader. Prepare & execute validation testing plans with support from lab technician(s) and in close co-operation with the development engineer and/or project leader Write conclusive validation technical reports according to the customer’s (project leader, Marketing, service…) expectation. To support implementation of ideas and initiatives, contribute to the design and development of sub systems and pumps Write development testing procedures (SOP’s). Responsible for defined aspects of product demonstration of fitness for purpose and product safety readiness To undertake defined aspects of the verification and validation test programme, legislative and reliability testing To use risk management tools such as FMEA to minimize potential failure modes To reduce time to market by precision of task delivery To efficiently support the customer (your own engineering team or other departments like marketing, operations, service…) with questions and issues related to testing of existing products. To provide supervision to lab technicians and advise and support them with the executing of their tasks. Developing new ideas and solutions to improve engineering lab practices and procedures. Attend and/or lead the weekly lab resources review meeting. To co-ordinate EHS, manage equipment calibration and inventory in the engineering lab’s together with (Senior) lab technician. Ensures that all areas under their direct control are conducted and work in a safe and effective manner in compliance with the company's Health and Safety policy and ensure that the requirements under Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work Act are met.
To succeed, you will need
Education level: Bachelor or Master degree level in a relevant engineering science discipline, with preference to (Electro-)Mechanical Engineering or equal through proven experience
Relevant previous experience:
Min. 3 years of experience in product validation testing within manufacturing industry, ideally relating to rotating machinery or engine or pump manufacture. Exposure to booster, liquid ring and wet screw bare shaft and/or systems standard and ATEX validation testing is an advantage. Knowledge of validation testing processes and technologies. Practical experience of experimental techniques, FMEA, reliability testing, the process of product design and the introduction of new products to production
Language skills:
Fluency in English and Chinese is required
