Summary The Mechanical Engineer will drive new product Development & high-volume manufacturing, specializing in plastics and Label materials. This role requires proficiency in engineering analysis, global manufacturing coordination, and collaboration with joint development partners to meet customer needs. Duties and Responsibilities Customized Product Development: - Collaborate with the passive component team to design customized products according to customer specifications. - Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis for new plastic products.
Tooling and Design Documentation: - Manage RFQ processes for plastic tooling to produce RFID Tags and labels. - Create detailed drawings for customer needs, maintained on a SharePoint database.
Supplier and Production Support: - Support Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE) in-house & at APAC supplier locations to troubleshoot and resolve process or production issues. - Participate in internal & external audits. validate mechanical parts as per quality standards.
Packaging and Fixture Design: - Design and validate ergonomic and biodegradable packaging solutions. - Develop, modify, or purchase jigs and fixtures based on manufacturing requirements.
Manufacturing Support: - Assist in manufacturing engineering samples and material validation for RFID components e.g.: plastics, labels, steel, ceramics, FR4, and other materials. - Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to communicate design changes, and validate tooling, jigs, and fixtures for NPI and mass production.
Project Coordination and Training: - Provide technical support and product / equipment training for internal and external customers. - Manage in-house CNC,3D printing projects, overseeing the production of jigs & fixtures. Engineering Change Management: - Update ERP system with engineering changes, including BOM updates and part number creation.
Other Responsibilities: - Support additional duties as assigned by the Account Manager and General Manager.
