Who you are：
We are looking for a Mechanical Chief Design Engineer (MCDE) to our Engineering & Supply North East Asian Hub in Qingdao, China. Work of MCDE will be related to Power & Offshore & Cruise businesses in our Business Unit Heat & Gas systems. As an MCDE you focus on Mechanical Engineering in the project production phase of boiler and other pressure vessel deliveries all over the world.

Your work is to make design close to production. MCDE is responsible for the mechanical equipment design and supporting manufacturing for the projects that you are participating. Your responsibility is to ensure that the mechanical design meets the customer requirements and is according to requested standards and classification needs, as well as in line with workshop availabilities. You work closely with Mechanical Engineering Manager, other MCDEs in our business teams in Finland and Singapore. You work daily in close contact with workshop process engineers and manage tasks with local mechanical designers.

· Scheduling and supervising the mechanical design of products
· Coordinating the manufacturing design between Qingdao factory and business teams
· Co-ordinating the local design team for Power & Offshore & Cruise in skills development and task management
· Providing development ideas and solutions to Technology and Product Management teams

What you know:
Your qualifications
To succeed in this position, you have 5-10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering
· Applicable technical education (M.Sc./B.Sc.)
You have good technical competence and experience from mechanical design for international projects
· Good practical competence from workshop floor related to manufacturing processes, e.g., cutting and welding of steel parts
You are familiar with boiler and pressure vessel designs and manufacturing according to norms and standards, such as EN, ASME, DNV etc.
· You can use Autodesk Inventor and Vault as daily working tools, and we appreciate other 3D skills, e.g., Aveva E3D
· You get motivated from challenges and can maintain high performance while working under pressure
You have good negotiation skills and ability to make decisions
· You are a cooperative team player and able to communicate fluently in English
You have a systematic working style and a solution finding ability and you are willing to develop your daily work.
· You have an ability to structure and organize your work and a commitment to deliver agreed results.

We appreciate
· You have strong mechanical experience from offshore, shipbuilding, power plant, or process industry
As a merit, you have knowledge in steam system layout and piping
